Public Works Sewer Replacement Project

Hamilton & Associates provided geotechnical observation and materials testing for Citywide Sewer Project No. S-1112, which consisted of Pipe Bursting and Open Trench pipeline replacement methods for approximately 5.9 miles of sanitary sewer mains comprised of eleven project site groupings within the City. This was the largest sewer pipe bursting replacement project in southern California, and accomplished 32,000 feet of pipe replacement to overcome capacity constraints. Total design and construction value of project was approximately 3.3 million USD. Cost savings to the City was about 50% of the bid for traditional open trench placement, and with fewer traffic impacts.
